A new forest brigade in the heart of the Sonian Forest. Its design rooted in the program and function, nestled in the landscape, aiming to minimise its impact on the surroundings. A practical, ecological structure. Circular in form, designed to evolve over time. Consisting of 16 modules. Offices, meeting rooms, sanitary facilities, a temporary residence, bicycle storage, … Organised around a central core, linked together creating a compact, circle-shaped whole that can and will undergo evolution. Each model’s structure allowing for dry assembly and easy disassembly. An adaptable building, adjustable according to its users and visitor’s needs. Not rigid nor symmetrical. Sustainable in terms of building, use, functionality and technics. Avoiding impact on the soil – a detachable design – allowing the ground below to flow through. Circularity and biodiversity are key. Reclaimed materials from buildings set for demolition, repurposed into furniture. Constructed from wood, reflecting the essence of the context, and the obviousness in a sustainable narrative. An embodied search for balance: between man and nature, functionality and comfort, flexibility and structure, fauna and flora, noise and silence, sustainability and economy, module and whole.
